Quotes for you

You cannot teach anybody anything. You can only help them to discover it in themselves — Galileo Galilei

Great questions to enhance progress – and what’s your favorite question?

If you want to help others to find solutions and enhance progress it is useful to ask solution focused questions that focus on the preferred future, observable precursors, positive differences, and clues of progress. These questions help to think in terms of solutions and possibilities.

Here are some of my favorite questions:

  • How will you notice that things are good enough for you?
  • What would you like to achieve by the end of this session?
  • How will you notice that you are a small step higher? How will other people notice?
  • Imagine your situation is just the way you want it? What will you do differently? What will other people do differently?
  • Please describe how you normally deal with situations like this. What could be useful now?
  • What resources do others see in you that could be useful to improve your situation?

Most of these questions you also find here: SolutionScope Progress Cards

I am sure that you are also experienced in helping others to come up with solutions and progress (e.g. as a leader, coach, trainer, mother or father, organizational developer, etc.) What are your favorite questions? Please leave a comment with your favorite question. I would love to collect them and spread the best.
