Secret Number 4: They know the things that already work well!
Successful leaders know a lot – but most of all, they know what already works and are aware of the fact, that they can build on that to reach their goals.
Normally when we think about our own performance we see what doesn’t work, and don’t focus on all the things that are working perfectly well. This is very sad, because these are exactly the things we can build on to improve our own performance. Most of the time it is much easier to do more of what is working than to try to fix what is broken and doesn’t work. To really realize a great performance it is essential to know what you can achieve. This normally expresses itself in the things that are already working well or that worked well in the past. Sometimes we only see what goes wrong, but if we analyze past tasks, normally more than 90 % of the things we did worked very well! If you go one step further and analyze the things that worked well, you might see similarities with other tasks, things that recur again and again, or even identify some kind of a formula.

I completely agree with this SECRET. It is important that one knows his strength and weaknesses and makes all out efforts to leverage/exploit the strengths rather than worry about weaknesses.
